How to measure
Measure, measure, measure! All of our designers are international, which means that measurements between different brands will differ. Make sure to read through our guide on how to take body measurements so that you can find the perfect measurements for your next purchase. Fit is everything!
Guide to Taking Your Measurements
Here's a simple guide to help you take your body measurements with a measuring tape.
Please note: The following information is intended as a general guideline. Sizing and fit may vary by brand. Please refer to the size chart for further help.
What You'll Need:
- A flexible measuring tape
- A mirror (optional, but helpful)
- A notepad and pen to write down your measurements
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Bust Measurement:
- Stand Up Straight: Make sure you are standing upright with your shoulders relaxed.
- Wrap the Tape: Place the measuring tape around the fullest part of your bust. Ensure the tape is parallel to the ground and not twisted.
- Breathe Normally: Don’t hold your breath; breathe normally to get the most accurate measurement.
- Read the Measurement: Look at the number where the end of the tape meets the rest of the tape. This is your bust measurement.
2. Waist Measurement:
- Find Your Natural Waist: This is usually the narrowest part of your torso, located above your belly button and below your ribcage.
- Wrap the Tape: Place the measuring tape around your natural waist. Make sure it is snug but not too tight, and parallel to the ground.
- Relax: Stand naturally without sucking in your stomach.
- Read the Measurement: Check the number where the end of the tape meets the rest of the tape. This is your waist measurement.
3. Hips Measurement:
- Stand with Feet Together: Stand with your feet close together to get the most accurate hip measurement.
- Wrap the Tape: Place the measuring tape around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks. Ensure the tape is level and straight around your body.
- Relax: Stand naturally and don’t tense your muscles.
- Read the Measurement: Look at the number where the end of the tape meets the rest of the tape. This is your hip measurement.
4. Inseam Measurement:
- Wear Fitted Pants: It can be helpful to wear a pair of fitted pants that you like the length of.
- Measure from the Inside: Start from the crotch seam (the point where the front and back seams meet) and measure down to the bottom of the pant leg.
- Stand Straight: If possible, have someone else take this measurement while you stand straight.
- Read the Measurement: This is your inseam length.
Tips for Accurate Measurements:
- Measure on Bare Skin: For the most accurate results, measure directly on your skin rather than over clothing.
- Use a Mirror: A mirror can help ensure the measuring tape is level and straight.
- Take Multiple Measurements: It can be helpful to measure each area a couple of times to ensure accuracy.
- Write Down Your Measurements: Keep a record of your measurements to refer back to when shopping online.
With these measurements in hand, you can confidently refer to size chart for the products on our website to choose the best-fitting pieces.
